The Hamilton Spectator and its websites jamilton.ca and thespec.com and Vibewrangler Studio are presenting a fundraiser concert event for Haiti relief efforts on Sunday, January 31 at Hamilton Place’s Great Hall theatre.

BLACKIE and the RODEO KINGS, LUKE DOUCET +MELISSA MCCLELLAND Lee Harvey Osmond, Bob Lanois, BRIAN MELO, Attack in Black with many more TBA will perform to raise money in support of Disaster Relief in Haiti.

. All proceeds from the event will be distributed to three Registered Charities that are already on the ground and familiar to Hamilton/Oakville residents already supporting their ongoing work on the ground in Haiti.

The Canadian Friends of Albert Schweitzer Hospital (which operates out in the mountain region north of the Haitian Capital), OMS Canada, which operates a mission in Cape Haitian and the International Child Care, which operates a hospital in Port-Au-Prince. (The only one left standing I am told).

The event is coming together quickly, with sponsors and acts signing on to help every few hours since launch on Friday.

Vibewrangler will be issuing a press release Monday so we are closing in on the list of headliners that will be named for this high profile event. The Spectator is owned by the Toronto Star and will be drawing on the full breadth of its sister publications to publicize this event.

I appreciate you taking the call and for your immediate enthusiasm for the cause. The situation in Haiti is deteriorating rapidly and we are supporting all efforts to do our part and help the Haitian people.

John Crawford, a local Hamilton musician, and friends are putting together a benefit concert to aid the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. He’s asking for your help in any way possible. This is a great way for the people of Hamilton and the surrounding area to show the world just how big our hearts are. If you would like to volunteer or contribute in anyway at all, he would love to hear from you. With your help, this event will be a HUGE success. You will find the details below. This site will be updated as things unfold. Let’s ROCK this thing!

This is a pay what you can event, all donations are welcome….first come first served seating and all are welcome!
